And for the first time, we're going international with games in Tokyo, Japan!
But here's where it gets really exciting: These international matchups, along with games in Miami, Houston, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, are all part of the World Baseball Classic. This means you'll get to see your favorite MLB stars proudly representing their home countries in a thrilling tournament. It's a fantastic showcase of global talent!
Now, let's talk about our local heroes. The Tampa Bay Rays will, as is tradition, set up their spring training base in Port Charlotte. Mark your calendars: pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on February 12th, with the rest of the squad joining them five days later. Their very first spring exhibition game is slated for February 21st.
And this is the part most people miss: the very same week the Rays get rolling, camps will officially open for Florida's other MLB teams as part of the renowned Grapefruit League.
