By the time November 7, 2025, arrived, the battle for the homologated production car record at Laguna Seca had intensified. In 2021, Koenigsegg's 21C set a record-breaking 1:25.44 lap time, a full two seconds faster than the previous McLaren Senna record holder. This achievement showcased the potential of 3D-printed technology. However, Czinger wasn't ready to concede defeat.
In 2024, Czinger's response was swift, with a lap time of 1:24.75, just days after Koenigsegg's 1:24.86. This left Koenigsegg in Sweden, unable to improve further that year. But the story took an unexpected turn in 2025.
Koenigsegg's commitment to pushing boundaries remains unwavering. The brand's latest creation, the Sadair's Spear, is now the fastest homologated production car at Laguna Seca, achieving a remarkable 1:24.16 lap time. This feat was accomplished by Markus Lundh, renowned for his 0-400-0 acceleration tests, and verified by Racelogic. The car even adhered to a 90dB noise limit, thanks to an additional silencer.
